A young man was shot dead on Sunday afternoon in the Gachi located in Jogia village of Vibhutipur police station area of Samastipur district. The young man has been identified as Guddu Kumar Ram (18), son of Lalu Ram of Vibhutipur East Ward-5 Mohalla. The young man was shot in the chest from close range. On receiving information about the incident, Vibhutipur police reached the spot and started investigation. Police have sent the body to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
Regarding the incident, the deceased’s sister Gudiya Kumari said that Guddu was taken away from his house by his friend Raja Ram on a bike. Raja had said that his brother would return in some time. Everyone was playing cards in the garden located in Jogia village. During this time, after a dispute over something, Guddu was shot. After the shooting, people fled from there.
On hearing the gunshot, when the people gathered around and reached the spot, they saw that Guddu’s dead body was lying there. A country-made pistol was also found at the spot. Playing cards were also recovered. On the other hand, there was chaos among the family members after getting information about the incident. On receiving information about the incident, Vibhutipur police also reached the spot and started investigation.
Vibhutipur police station chief Anand Kashyap said that on receiving information about the incident, the body is being seized and sent to Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Playing cards and a loaded country-made pistol have been recovered from the spot. It is not yet clear what caused the incident. Even the family members are not able to tell anything. The police is investigating the entire matter at its level. The youth has been shot.
